A Poem About The Need To Be Known
I wish I could tell you all my worlds;
Many are in the place called tomorrow
And await the sunrise to give them life,
But others have been ravaged by cruelty
Where war, disease, and famine left them dry.
I would show you to where my heart is buried-
That lonely place where the love in me died.
I would watch to see my lands in your eyes
For through you I would find understanding,
But I can't ask you to cross these lands
I would not force on you such a burden.
Yet, if ever one were to know my worlds
I would grant a passport only to you.
