Epilogue For A Dream. A Poem About Hope.
My dream faded
And hope grew thin.
The treasure hunt
Became a blank map.
My arms, back, and shoulders
Ache from the labor,
And in spite of my toil
The walls fell.
I made the offer,
A gesture,
And hope to see light
In your eyes;
But they stayed dull
With no shine for me.
I can live with failure
And dreams that vanish,
But I still need
To hope in them;
And after you left
I dug through the rubble
Of fallen walls
Hoping
To find a piece
That proves the dream lived
Once-
Even if it was for a moment.
