The Dance Lesson, A poem

This is a short freestyle poem about youth and life and how the young can teach the old to live.

The Dance Lesson,
A Poem

I love to see her dance
And wish I could
Dance too.
She laughed and
Showed me the steps
I watched,
"First feet go
To this position
Then move to that."
I tried them
While she laughed.
She had one command
"Practice!" she said
With a laugh.
So I practiced,
But could never
Get it right,
My body
Betrayed me.
Later I saw that
I missed the point,
She taught more
Than steps-
She taught my soul
How to laugh
And to enjoy life.
Now
I dance.
