THE LONELY PRINCESS
A Poem About Finding Love

Looking out of the castle tower
She longs for her champion
To ride up on his horse
Some sunny day.
She waits for a
Someone
To find her
In her hilltop fortress.
She wants to be beautiful,
Admired,
And loved.
But,
So does the milkmaid
In the village below
Who
Brings flowers to the old ladies,
Delivers milk for free to
The young mothers,
Stops to visit the sick,
Kisses the little children,
And returns smiles.
Every boy in the village
Dreams to win
Her hand.
She gave
Beauty,
Admiration and,
Love,
Then found it without looking.
