Reflections On Windows
A Poem About Connections

Our reflection in the glass
Moves with us
As we walk down the streets
Of towns and cities.
Like one of those bugs
With eight eyes and
Almost blind
Each portal is
An opening
Without admission,
An unseen blockade to
Microworlds within
Of shops,
Offices, and
No matter what is inside
We remain outside
With our twins
Reflected on the panes
Gliding past as specters.
The occupants untouched
By our trespass
Remain safe
Beyond translucent walls.
Who knows how many
We walk past
While those inside
Put their hands against
The clear barriers.
