THE SILENCED FALLEN, A POEM ABOUT VIGIL

* * * * *

The Silenced Fallen,
A Poem About Vigil

Her home was
Beyond the iron gate.
She fell from above
And tumbled
Into the shadows,
To fall to the concrete
And was lost
Among stones.
Her feathers scattered-
Useless-
On the ground.
Yet
The Silenced Fallen
A Poem
She struggles to fly
On broken wings
That flutter like
A crushed heart,
And shudders without lift.
Was she pushed by another-
A brother?
A rival for Heaven's heights?
Her angel song is
Forever silenced
At twilight.
But
Her broken wing and dying sigh
Are cherished
By eyes above.
