Launch Engine,
A Poem Of The Careless Word
Voices of vision
And waking dreams
Drove me until
I drew them in lines
On scrap paper,
And perfected their design.
I cut the parts free,
Measured the cable,
Repaired the wheels,
Set the propeller,
Tightened the sail,
And stoked the fire.
Until my dream was ready
To fly above my own life-
And fulfill the
Unquenchable thirst.
But
It only took a word
To drain its fuel,
Collapse the tower,
Bleach the paper,
And silence the voices.
How high could I have
Flown
For want of the right word
From you.
